Thomas Breuer: On the verification of information in the ATLAS of Finite Groups

Abstract:

Motivated by the question of J.-P. Serre how reliable the ATLAS data are, we have verified the character tables shown in the ATLAS of Finite Groups, (currently) except for the table of the Monster group. I will report on details of this project.
