Joshua Stucky (Kansas State University): The sixth moment of automorphic $L$-functions

Abstract: Moments of $L$-functions are among the central objects of study in modern analytic number theory. In this talk I will discuss my recent results concerning the sixth moment of a family of $GL(2)$ automorphic $L$-functions. After a brief introduction to this family of $L$-functions, I will explain the proof of my result in some detail, focusing on the main ideas of the proof as well as a few of the technical aspects.
