Bezdek Károly: On the concept of separability in discrete geometry

 The talk is centered around some basic extremal problems of the following discrete systems:

1. Non-separable arrangements of convex bodies;
2. Separable translative packings;
3. Spherical tilings generated by great circles.

Besides surveying the relevant results, the talk intends to highlight a selected list of open questions.
